Our supporter Gabriela is holding a musical extravaganza to help raise funds for our Build It Together appeal for a new hospice in Heald Green, Stockport.

The concert will be held at St Margaret’s Church, Whalley Range, Manchester on the 22nd April 2023 and will feature a variety of genres from pop, jazz and world vocal harmonies.

Artists such as Chris Buxton from the indie rock-band The Covasettes will take to the stage to perform well-loved classics, and Open Voice Choir will raise the roof with their very own special harmonies and songs from around the world!

Gabriela’s mum was a patient at our Little Hulton hospice and sadly died in May last year.

She wanted to spend her final days at St Ann’s so that her loved ones could spend as much quality time with her as possible.

Gabriela’s mum was a Physio in the NHS for almost 40 years before she retired. She was passionate about making sure people had access to high quality medical care, inspiring Gabriela to play her part by supporting St Ann’s to raise funds for a new hospice, that will transform end-of-life care for people living with a life-limiting illness in Greater Manchester.

Gabriela said: “We are one of many families across Manchester to whom St Ann’s Hospice has come to the rescue.

If funding is not found to ensure St Ann’s new site is built, many vulnerable patients across Greater Manchester will suffer.”

Our Head of Fundraising Anne-Marie Wynne said: “I am incredibly grateful to Gabriela for her support in organising this wonderful concert, and to all the artists for sharing their skills and expertise for the benefit of St Ann’s New Hospice.

It is only through the support of the community and events like this that we will be able to build the New Hospice that Greater Manchester so desperately needs.”

Our current hospice building in Heald Green is over 150 years old and is no longer fit for purpose.

We desperately need a new purpose-built hospice and additional facilities so that we can continue to deliver quality care for everyone, for generations to come.
